PROSHARP SpeedBelt Instructions 2.0

Daily AS2001 Maintenance 

Please ensure vacuum is dedicated to AS2001 usage ONLY.

Ensure your vacuum, vacuum hose, vacuum bag and profiling machine are clear of all dust and debris on a regular basis.

Failure to do so may result in personal injury, property damage or risk of a fire. 

  1. Brush the Machine Top Plate

  2. Brush the Machine Top Rail
  3. Ensure Vacuum and Vacuum Bag is Emptied
  4.  Check Vacuum Hose for Obstructions and Shake Loose
  5. Vacuum Machine Dust Channel

 

Counter Weight Installation

  1. Slide the extra counter weight on to the standard counter weight. 
  2. Slide counter weight to desired wheel pressure and lock it in place.

Vacuum Port Installation

  1. Use left directional arrow to move sledge all the way to the left.
  2. Power off the machine, unplug the power cables to the machine and vacuum.
  3. Remove all profiling templates, dress cover & key for the emergency stop from the machine.                                                                                       
  4. Unscrew and remove the grinding wheel well cover plate            .
  5. Remove existing wheel together with the spindle washer. Temporarily put the spindle washer aside. (Please save the nut for Step 15)               
  6. Clean out any debris from the grinding wheel well with a vacuum and a brush.
  7. Flip the machine towards you so it is resting on the service rails.
  8. Remove the back cover from the machine turning the 8 screws counter clockwise.
  9. Remove the existing vacuum hose by unscrewing it.                   
  10. Remove the nut from the new vacuum port.                               
  11. Slide in the new vacuum port into the grinding wheel well and install it in the hole where the vacuum hose previously was.                                       
  12. Lock the vacuum port in place with the accompanied locking nut.
  13. Slide the existing vacuum hose on top of the new vacuum port and secure it with a standard zip tie.                                                                           
  14. Re-install the back cover of the machine turning the 8 screws clockwise.
  15. Flip the machine back to its operating position.
  16. Mount the SpeedBelt, and tighten it with the nut removed in Step 5. (The Spindle Washer is not needed when using SpeedBelt. Please store this piece away for future use when operating with a MA46, MA54, MA70 or MA90 Grinding Wheel)
  17. Plug the machine back in.
  18. Center the wheel in the sledge using the wheel thickness dial on the back right of machine. To confirm centered properly, clamp a pair of skate blades, press the right arrow to shift blades towards SpeedBelt and look from above. The SpeedBelt wheel should be centered beneath blades.
  19. Install the grinding wheel well cover plate.
                                               
  20. You are now ready to profile using your new SpeedBelt.
